OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PLANT

Operation and Maintenance of Plant. This category consists of those activities related to maintaining existing grounds and facilities, providing utility services, planning and designing future plant expansions and modifications, and campus safety and security. This category includes all expenditures of current operating funds for the operation and maintenance of the physical plant, net of the amount charged to auxiliary enterprises and independent operations.

This category does not include expenditures made from the plant fund accounts.

701. Physical Plant Administration

This category includes expenditures for those administrative activities carried out in direct support of Clemson's physical plant operations.

702. Building Maintenance

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to routine repair and maintenance of buildings and structures, including both normally recurring repairs and preventive maintenance.

703. Custodial Services

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to custodial services in institutional buildings.

704. Utilities

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to heating, cooling, light and power, gas, water, and any other utilities necessary for the operation of the physical plant

705. Landscape and Ground Maintenance

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to the operation and maintenance of campus landscape and grounds.

706. Major Repairs and Renovations

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to major repairs, maintenance, and renovation projects. Major projects are defined as those costing $100,000 or more. However, this category does not include capital expenditures used to finance such projects.

707. New Construction

This category includes expenditures for those activities related to the development of plans for plant expansion or modifications as well as for new construction.

708. Safety and Security

This category includes expenditures for those activities carried out to provide for the well being and security of the campus and its residents.
